Tanvi and Harshil, Fiji
A tropical storm proved to be a romantic experience for Tanvi and Harshil during their Fiji honeymoon.
For Tanvi and Harshil, rambling on a private beach in Fiji and basking in the warmth and hospitality of the people there resulted in some unforgettable memories. From its lush jungles to charming local attractions, pristine environment and world-class services, the tropical paradise of Fiji proved to be a heavenly haven for these honeymooners.
How They Met
Tanvi shares, “Harshil and I first met was at a common friend’s house for a games night. He eventually managed to get my number from her and we started talking. Over time, we became the best of friends! One night, when I was discussing my marriage prospects and the boys I’d met, Harshil confessed his feelings for me and that’s how our love story started.”
The couple wed earlier this year. Tanvi recalls, “I always wanted to have a wedding of my dreams and Harshil ensured that my every wish was fulfilled. We had eight functions spread over two weeks which were filled with happiness and fun.”
Honeymoon Planning
The newlyweds left for their honeymoon in mid-February and traveled through four time zones over a month. They started from Singapore, then stopped at Fiji which had been on their travel list for its scenic beauty, and later proceeded to Australia and New Zealand. Their multi destination honeymoon was curated by Mumbai based luxury travel curator TravelnLiving, founded by Kanan Fotedar.
When quizzed on why they opted for Fiji as a honeymoon destination, Tanvi shares, “Fiji was among the top three choices of places I wanted to visit on my honeymoon. In fact, it was actually on the top of the list! I just wouldn’t have traveled for over 24 hours to any other destination, if it wasn’t for the magical allure of Fiji. Its beautiful islands, turquoise ocean, untouched wildlife and the warm, welcoming locals made our stay there a breathtaking experience. The people there are so humble and have a genuine love for their land.”
Honeymoon Highlights
Fiji left the couple speechless from the start. “We landed in the Nadi International Airport and were scheduled to stay in Fiji for five nights. Once we landed, we took a connecting flight to the town of SavuSavu which is a 30-minute drive away from our resort. When Harshil and I got the first glimpse of Namale the Fiji Islands Resort and Spa, we were speechless! The resort is spread over 525 acres of tropical landscape which is dotted with vibrant flowers. We were given a very warm welcome with a traditional song, a garland made of sea shells as a token of love, and a refreshing glass of locally grown, fresh papaya juice which is the best I have had in my life. Harshil had booked the Honeymoon Bure for us, which is one of the resort’s highest category villas. It consisted of a beautiful suite, a walk-in wardrobe, an open to sky hot tub, a private pool and our own little beach.”
“Everything about Fiji just has an understated charm, and you can’t help but fall in love with this place and the people who have the brightest smiles. The things that we liked most about our resort and especially about Fijians was the hospitality offered. The courteous staff helped us plan our daily schedules in such a way that we covered all the activities like horse riding, snorkeling and visiting their local villages to understand local Fijian culture, but all at our own leisure. Every day there was a new activity on the cards, like, strolling the beach on a horse, a night of stargazing and of course, local dance and music where we got to try delicious cocktails and dishes. We also visited the gorgeous marina in Denarau and were awestruck by the clear blue waters and the warm welcome we received there. It’s actually a great place where you can shop, relax and indulge your taste buds with delicious local cuisine. ”
Best Meal of The Trip
“Every meal in Fiji was amazing! For us, dining experience was no less than a date in romantic locations with the most delicious food set in front of us. Whether it was a trek to the waterfalls or a date night in a private cave, everything was just perfect. But for me, the standout meal was the breakfast we enjoyed by the ‘Lover’s Deck.’ We had a private heart pool overlooking the sea, and we were witness to a stunning sunrise every morning. The three hours that we spent there, in the pool, and the lovely Fijian breakfast spread that we enjoyed later remains a memory close to my heart.”
Most Romantic Moment
“Fiji is all about being wild and free, and experiencing nature in a unique way. Tropical rainstorms are a common there, and on the second day, we were at our private beach relaxing under the sun when the entire atmosphere suddenly changed into grey skies, thunder and strong winds. It was so romantic that we stayed there cherishing every minute which made it one of our most romantic moments in Fiji. What made it extra special was the solitude we experienced being alone together in the middle of nature with the endless turquoise waters ahead of us and the lush greenery behind us.”
Must-experience
“Even though it was a bit pricey, “Namale the Fiji Islands Resort and Spa was nothing short of pure luxury, and for couples who are looking for a boutique hotel experience, this property should be very high on their list.”
Advice For Couples
“Our only advice to any couple planning on visiting Fiji is that it is totally worth it. No matter what your budget is, Fiji has tons to offer. I think it is one of the best honeymoon destinations in the world, not just for its scenic beauty but also because the people there are famous for their hospitality.”
