Harshita and Shrigopal, New Zealand
Witnessing the Milky Way to chasing glaciers - this couple’s 18-day honeymoon in New Zealand will have you reaching for your passports.
Surrounded by stunning vistas that were majestic yet whimsical, Harshita and Shigopal’s honeymoon in New Zealand was nothing short of a fairytale. Hiking mountain trails, feasting their eyes on the countless stars and enjoying a breathtaking helicopter ride, the couple got the perfect opportunity to bond as they began their ‘happily ever after’.
Honeymoon Planning
Harshita shares, “We went to New Zealand for our Honeymoon, and it was the best decision. We planned everything by ourselves. Right from hotels, and activities to the route covering everything from North to South Island. During our 18 days stay in New Zealand we stayed in 11 different properties each one had a beautiful view.”
Shrigopal adds, “We were very particular about the kind of place we wanted for our honeymoon, we wanted a place which has plenty of natural beauty and covered everything from the ocean, rivers, waterfalls, greenery to mountains. At the same time, we also wanted to indulge in adventure activities!”
Honeymoon Highlights
With the itinerary for the trip curated by the couple themselves, it was an action-packed journey as Harshita shares, “We visited all the main spots of both North and South Island. We covered Auckland, Waitomo Caves, Hobbit Movie set, Rotorua, Christchurch, Kaikoura, Lake Tekapo, Mt Cook, Wanaka, Te Anau, Milford Sound, Queenstown and Glenorchy.
The whale watching on the Pacific Ocean, and witnessing Milford sound on a rainy day was an awesome experience along with observing the Milky Way through our naked eyes on one of the darkest skies in the world! We also landed on a glacier via a helicopter and ended the trip with a relaxing hot water spa in an Onsen Pool.”
Must Experience
Shrigopal shares, “The best dinner we had was at Hotel Hermitage, they have a huge dinner buffet. The food was drool-worthy with so many options at our disposal. They have choices for everything and anything with the great view of Mt Cook from the dinner Hall.”
