Miloni and Jai, Mahalaxmi Racecourse, Mumbai
Striking a fine balance between extravagance and elegance, this couple’s Mumbai-based wedding featured colorful themes and personalised designs.
Planned with the smallest details in mind while catering to the tastes of the millennial couple and a traditional family, Miloni and Jai’s wedding struck the right balance in every aspect. The union was planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – KKings Events who with their foresight ensured the couple had a breezy time as they tied the knot.
How They Met
Jai shares, “Miloni and I first crossed paths while pursuing our undergrad courses. We did not speak much despite sharing the same group of friends. However, during our third year, we drew closer and became friends. Eventually, we developed feelings for one another and since then, it has been six years of togetherness!”
Wedding Planning
Monil Shah from KKings Events shares, “As planners, we had to balance the millennial mindset of the couple with the parents’ love for traditions. Instead of opting for a destination wedding, the couple opted for a city wedding in Mumbai to ensure the best hospitality for their guests in a well-connected city familiar to them. On both sides, the families wanted to ensure the celebrations exuded a sense of warmth and intimacy despite its grandeur. The details were of utmost importance in decor, with personalised elements that tied back to their lives and experiences.”
Wedding Functions
Sangeet
Flaunting a citrus-based theme with lemon centrepieces paired with woody tables, the sangeet exuded boho-glam. The black upholstered furnishings, the checkered floor and quirky coasters added to the decor. As evening fell, LED arches lit the entryway while the couple’s family gave energetic performances onstage.
Haldi and Mehndi
Colorful decor and a multitude of fun games kept the guests mesmerised as they celebrated the couple’s haldi and mehndi. Floral arches welcomed the guests while larger-than-life blooms flanked the bride as she got her palms patterned with henna. The rooftop venue also served as the perfect backdrop for spontaneous dance performances of the family which delighted the to-be-weds.
Wedding and Reception
Owing to the bride’s love for Pichwai art, the wedding’s theme was ‘Pichwai Bagh’. Swathed in hues of baby pink and adorned with numerous blooms, the wedding mandap looked stunning under the sunkissed sky. A pink-patterned aisle and white furnishings added to the elegance of the event. The reception was hosted at the same venue the following evening.
