Wedding Planning
When it came to curating her ensembles for her sister’s wedding, Shweta’s process was a little different. Instead of deciding on styles and looks first, she browsed through the WeddingSutra app to finalize her vendors. For each function, Mithali Vakil, her makeup artist, put together different looks, which helped her narrow down on outfits from ace designers. Her goal was to choose unique and timeless pieces that wouldn’t steal the bride’s thunder.
Wedding Functions
Sangeet
White lehengas have an air of laid-back elegance. Shweta put her trust in Shantanu & Nikhil, choosing an intricately-designed ensemble decorated with shimmering gold sequin work for the sangeet. She kept her hair down and styled in dreamy curls, adding a hint of drama with her eye makeup. To finish it all off, she wore a gorgeous green choker from Hazoorilal, which complemented her outfit wonderfully.
Mehndi
Jayanti Reddy’s pretty pastel yellow lehenga worked well with a beige net dupatta that featured gota borders. Sporting a chic, contemporary look, Shweta tied her hair into a ponytail and accessorized her ensemble with a maang tikka, choker and embellished studs from Amrapali Jewels. A pop of pink on her lips completed her dewy makeup.
Wedding
For the wedding, Shweta donned traditional wear, emerging in an elegant pink and blue silk saree by Tulsi Silks. She paired this with an embroidered bespoke blouse by Anjali Sharma. Her subtle makeup and nude pink lips, along with her braided hair decorated with white flowers, added a delicate finesse to her stunning outfit. She also wore a green aad and kundan set, with kundan earrings and a maang tikka from Amrapali Jewels.
Reception
At the reception, the sister of the bride looked ethereal in a heavily embellished ethnic gown with a belt and net dupatta by Manish Malhotra. To complete her look, she opted for a glowing visage, side-swept curls and matte pink lips. She accessorized her outfit with a diamond and pearl choker and earrings, which she designed herself.
