With WeddingSutra on Location- Shagun Sarabhai
Bridal Fashion and Beauty, WeddingSutra on Location - Oct 11, 2013
As part of our initiative ‘WeddingSutra on Location’, we invited four brides-to-be for a unique experience at Ensemble, the multi designer store near Lions Gate, Mumbai. Starting with a Style Consultation, a Makeover and a Photo shoot, each of the four participants got to interact with some of the best names in Bridal & Wedding services.
Here in the third of the four-part series, bride-to-be Shagun Sarabhai, a model turned Homeopathic doctor tells us about her experience with WeddingSutra on Location.
“My best friend Aradhana and I have known each other since thirteen years. We both stay at Nepean Sea Road, two minutes away and we studied in the same school. And we’re getting married two months apart! So when we were both invited for WeddingSutra on Location, we were thrilled to get the chance to enjoy a ‘pre-wedding’ experience before our big day, together.
On our drive from our homes to the store we chatted non-stop, maybe a little more than usual, and before we realized, we had reached Lions Gate. At Ensemble, the WeddingSutra team introduced us to the experts they had invited, and my ‘play bride-to-be’ time began with Wedding Planner Neha Shroff who took me around to see the different outfits. I mentioned to her that my pre-wedding festivities were taking place in Goa- the Cocktail night, Sangeet and Pool Party, so I was looking for an outfit that would be apt for one of these functions. The outfit that caught my eye was a JJ Valaya gown, in a beautiful shade of blue, the top was a gold corset highlighted with Swarovski crystals and the gown had a beautiful flounce to it. Once I tried it on, I loved it even more; the fit was excellent, the look dramatic, and it felt so comfortable! Neha Shroff and my friend also felt it looked great, so I was sure I didn’t want to try anything else. Then, I looked through the jewellery options from Azva and Gehna Jewelers to decide how to accessorize the very elegant outfit. With Neha’s help, I chose a gold bangle and earrings with yellow and white diamonds.
Next, it was time to get my Makeup done by Kumar Iyer. I told him that I’d like a soft look, and he did exactly that. He was super with eye makeup, and observing him quietly gave me the opportunity to learn a few easy makeup tips. His associate hairstylist Laksh Singh gave me soft curls and voluminous hair to enhance the look.
Finally, I got my photo shoot done with Wedding Photographer Shreya Sen. Though I have been a model, shooting with Shreya was more fun as there was no pressure to ‘pose’. She didn’t make me feel conscious at all, so I faced the camera naturally and I enjoyed myself as she clicked away.
Overall, I had a great time with WeddingSutra at Ensemble. The ambience was relaxed and stress-free, the Wedding experts were warm and friendly, and most importantly, playing bride-to-be with my best friend made the whole experience very special.”
