With WeddingSutra on Location – Disha Mehta
Bridal Fashion and Beauty, WeddingSutra on Location - Jun 11, 2013
As part of our new initiative ‘WeddingSutra on Location’ we invited four brides-to-be for a unique experience at Fizaa (by Zarine Khan), the multi-designer fashion studio in Juhu, Mumbai. Starting with a Style Consultation, a Makeover and a Photo shoot, each of the four participants got to interact with some of the best names in Bridal & Wedding services. Here, in the second of the four-part series, Disha Mehta writes about her experience.
“When WeddingSutra called me for the photo shoot, I was really excited. The first thing that came to my mind was – Lights! Camera! Action! Once I arrived at the venue I met all the experts who made me feel like a bride– so it was pampering talk all the way. The first step of course was figuring out what I would wear for the shoot. Fizaa retails creations by many newer designers, many of whom I had not heard about earlier, so I started checking out which designer does which kind of wear. And then my eyes veered towards a bright yellow lehenga by Anushree Reddy– I loved the color combination of the yellow lehenga and the fuchsia pink blouse, and the Stylist Sakshi Mehra felt it was just so perfect for a fun pre-wedding function, like the Mehndi. For the dupatta Sakshi picked an orange and fuchsia pink one by Aanchal and Sanjana of Bubber Couture. We all looked and re-looked at the combination, and everyone felt this is it. For the jewellery, Sakshi showed me a Jewellery set that teamed very well with the ensemble- a handcrafted beads necklace and chandelier earrings.” Outfit and jewellery selected, Makeup Artist Kumar Iyer and Hairstylist Ishita Khanna began to get me ready, I didn’t ask them too many questions, and just quietly observed how they went about their work.
Being a wedding card designer, it gave me a great opportunity to meet other people from the wedding industry, like Wedding Planner Candice Pereira. Since I am planning a destination wedding, a chat with Candice of Marry Me-The Wedding Planners helped me understand few essentials and requirements for a destination wedding. Shreya Sen, the candid photographer made me feel comfortable while she clicked some brilliant indoor and outdoor shots. It was a lovely experience to meet other brides-to-be and exchange notes. And while initially, I was wondering how long this would all take, I walked out feeling it would have been even nicer to spend a few more hours, with WeddingSutra on Location.”
