“These days, people are getting married at a much later age. And so, when they choose a venue they want something convenient for their grandparents to travel to and access,” said Nalin Mandiratta, General Manager, Intercontinental Jaipur, highlighting one of the important factors why hometown weddings are becoming popular again. Mandiratta was speaking at a panel discussion titled: The Ghar ki Shaadi and How can one market and upsell hometown weddings in the era of destination celebrations?, on the second day of the WeddingSutra Grand Engage hosted at the InterContinental Jaipur, Tonk Road, in association with IHG Hotels & Resorts. This is just one of the many perceptive thoughts that were freely shared during the WeddingSutra Grand Engage 2023.
Moderated by Parthip Thyagarajan, WeddingSutra CEO and co-founder – all the panels provided key insights into the evolving approach of families and couples when it came to weddings.

‘The food formula for Millennials and Gen Zs’ featuring Sharad Upadhyay (General Manager of Crowne Plaza Greater Noida, Tahir Sultan – Founder of Tahir Sultan Food, and Siddarth Chaturvedi – Weddings by Event Crafter who discussed the evolving preferences of Millennials and Gen Z in the culinary realm.
Speaking at the panel discussion were Mandiratta, Srikant Kanoi from Ethereal Celebration Management, Pritesh Sharma, the Founder of Mapsor Experiential Weddings; and Ashima Arora from Aroosi Events. The afternoon of discussion was brought to a close with a vibrantly designed mehndi mela where wedding influencers were at their creative best. With top-notch industry professionals in attendance, this event paved the way for new ideas, insights and plenty of networking opportunities for wedding professionals to hone their craft.
Adding a musical vibe on Tuesday evening were Luna Band. The Gala Dinner on Wednesday night saw live music by Anish Chabbra and DJ Shann V Gidwani, culminating the Grand Engage on a high note. Showcase partners, like, SEREKO Skincare, True Elements, Library of Nuts, Morning Fresh, Elixir Wellness, Molly Moo Ice Cream, SEVA Home, Souk Life, The Paan Story and Zealo Foods added to the engaging event with interactive stalls where wedding professionals could sample their offerings.
