This couple’s wedding echoed the vibrancy of Gujarati culture with its gold archways and vintage chandeliers.

Hosted in the city of Ahmedabad, a place known for its rich culture and open spaces, Nidhi and Aashish, who first met each other in an arranged marriage setup, tied the knot in a series of breathtaking ceremonies that were generously dipped in tradition surrounded by love, as they were joined by their large family. Orchestrating their nuptials and leading at the helm was WeddingSutra Favorite – 7X-Weddings, who with their superior planning skills ensured that the couple and their family’s vision came true. Giving the couple a treasure trove of memories with their prowess behind the lens was WeddingSutra Favorite – Isrrani Photography who captured every tender moment in several expressive shots.
With the sprawling Andaz Party Lawn serving as the venue, there was plenty of space for the duo to let their creativity run free as they chose a varied color palette for each occasion. The vast open spaces also ensured that there was plenty of room for their long guest list.
Acknowledging the mammoth task of planning a grand wedding, the couple ensured that they roped in some of the most popular names in the industry to be part of their dream team. Paving the way ahead was 7X-Weddings, who, with their meticulous attention to detail and creative insights ensured that everything went ahead smoothly. On the photography front, Isrrani Photography knocked it out of the park with momentous and well-composed shots that captured the essence of each function. Nidhi shares, “Working with Rajat & Devang of 7X-Weddings was an absolute pleasure as they understood our vision perfectly from the start. Isrrani Photography also left us mightily impressed with their stunning shots that speak a thousand words.”
To start off on a joyful note, the groom’s mehndi was the first function of many that would take place throughout the nuptials. Hosted on a sunlit lawn and equipped with a stage that encouraged everyone to shake a leg, it was a laid-back affair that had everyone mingling around freely. Adding a touch of quirk to the function was a marigold adorned cycle rickshaw which aptly set the mood for tons of selfies and pictures for everyone.
Next in line were the welcome parties thrown separately by the groom and bride’s side. Decorated with vibrant blooms and colorful canopies, the groom’s ‘Carnival’ themed welcome party was a smashing hit as Ashish was welcomed by popping multi-hued smoke bombs. The event was also punctuated with a live band performance that had everyone tapping their feet. For her welcome party, the bride chose rich hues of orange, green, and yellow to include in the decor which also had a touch of quirk all thanks to the eye-catching pop-art backdrop.
Observing tradition, the bride and groom’s pre-wedding rituals were fairly simple events where both were surrounded by their close family and friends. Replete with bright colored blooms and lively umbrellas, the duo sat solemnly throughout their respective pujas and then proceeded to mingle with their family after the Haldi and Mayra.
Moving up the glamour stakes, while eschewing tradition, the duo’s sangeet was a dazzling affair hosted at one of the venue’s spacious ballrooms. Equipped with a colossal stage and with an LED screen serving a backdrop, each dance performance was a feast for the eyes as the couple’s family members shook a leg to their favorite tracks. However, the highlight of the evening was a romantic proposal by Aashish in which he popped the question to Nidhi on stage as everyone looked on.
With traditional dancers heralding the gorgeous bride’s entry, calling the couple’s wedding a grand affair would be an understatement. Swathed in hues of delicate green, gold, and pastel pink the decor echoed their personalities and complemented the lush lawn perfectly. Shining brightly under the dark night sky, the spacious mandap, however, was the highlight of the evening with a ceiling thronged with delicate blooms and crystal chandeliers that cast a golden glow over the couple as they took their pheras. Glowing in a ruby red, intricately embroidered lehenga, Nidhi radiated happiness as she smiled lovingly at Aashish, who wore a gold embroidered sherwani for the occasion. Following the same color palette as the wedding, was the reception which witnessed the newlyweds mingling with the guests freely, as they accepted their blessings.
When quizzed about any tips she’d like to share with couples looking to get married, Nidhi shares, “Accept that there might be some things that’ll not go exactly as planned. Ignore the pressure of following trends and just go with what makes you happy as a person.”
