This couple overcame every obstacle to successfully pull off an elegant and close-knit lockdown wedding
Wedding Photography & Films, Wedding Planning - May 13, 2020
Manika and Tushar started their journey of love in an arranged marriage setup whereby cupid struck them on the second sight. Sealing the deal in the second meeting itself, both of them simply knew that they were made for each other despite having barely spent much time together. However, as fate would have it, the COVID – 19 pandemic hit the world and their meticulous plan for a grand Punjabi wedding hit the rocks.
But nothing could beat the hardy combination of determination and love as this newly smitten duo decided to tie the knot in an extremely close-knit celebration while overcoming every obstacle that was thrown their way. Captured by WeddingSutra Favorite – Vintage Films whose shots encapsulate every tender emotion, Manika and Tushar’s wedding story shows us how, in the end, love is all that matters.
Held at Tushar’s Tayaji’s spacious home, Manika and Tushar’s nuptials went ahead seamlessly all thanks to the necessary permissions they’d acquired in advance. When quizzed about their decision to not wait the pandemic out, here’s what they had to say, “As we were informed about the escalating COVID-19 situation, we were highly doubtful about getting a date in the near future to tie the knot. However, we chose to see things in a positive light and thought it would be a great idea to make the most of the home quarantine by enjoying marital bliss together. After both our families agreed to a smaller celebration, we got the necessary permission from the Sub Divisional Magistrate of Yamuna Nagar who allowed us to have a gathering of only 10 people for the wedding.”
Describing in detail about the challenges they faced while orchestrating their nuptials and expressing their gratitude towards their dedicated vendors, the couple shared, “Our biggest challenge was celebrating a wedding with minimum people present, in a memorable way. At first, everything seemed like a challenge. Be it arranging permission for the wedding, transporting Manika’s family from Chandigarh to acquiring decorations and sweets. Thankfully, we did find our footing, and our sincere most thanks to all the forthcoming vendors, who contributed to making our vision come true. Each vendor had their own share of challenges as they were functioning with limited inventory, but their enthusiasm made up for the scarcity of materials. Vintage Films, especially, did a fantastic job with the photography. Even though our wedding was a small one, their expressive shots make it seem like a grand celebration.”
“Our families, too, were very understanding of our decision and adapted quickly despite having envisioned a grand wedding for us. Their confusion was promptly replaced with support as soon as they saw how happy we were with the idea of having a cozy lockdown wedding.”
