Simple yet exuding desi vibrancy, this couple’s farmhouse engagement event was one with nature
Wedding Planning - Jun 24, 2021
Nestled amidst lush greenery, Anushi Shah, a real estate advocate and Pratik Patel, a property and socio-environmental lawyer’s engagement which is also known as ‘gol dhana’ in Hindu-Jain culture was a colorful event where the couple happily mingled with their loved ones. Keen on making it look simple while still being mindful of tradition, the couple roped in WeddingSutra Favorite – Shana Namrata Events who didn’t let a single detail go amiss and orchestrated an event that brought the duo’s vision to life.
Giving us a backdrop about the start of their love story, Pratik shares, “We first met in college while pursuing our LL.B degree and it was in the second semester that both of us were introduced to each other. Soon, we became friends and slowly started developing feelings towards one another. At first, I wasn’t sure about my feelings but she was! I was swept away by her dedicated patience which persuaded me to give our relationship a chance. However, two years later it sadly came to an end as my thoughts on the concept of marriage had changed and I was keen on dedicating my life to the betterment of the country. We parted ways and pursued our individual dreams. Regardless of the success that came my way, I couldn’t get Anushi out of my mind, and then after several long heartfelt discussions, we finally agreed to tie the knot!”
Explaining how they collaborated with the decor team to make their vision come to life, Anushi shares, “We wanted the event to look simple and minimalistic, and that is exactly what we conveyed to team Shana Namrata Events. They used beautiful pink, white and yellow flowers which gave the decor a vibrant look. Additionally, giant copper/brass elements were also used for some contrast. For the venue we chose a natural place surrounded by trees and we wanted the ground beneath us to be soil rather than a lawn or tiled surface. Admittedly there were several challenges within the location but the decor team overcame all of them so professionally!”
Lit up by earthen diyas, fairy lights and sheltered by trees that had long floral garlands suspended from its branches, the gol dhana event blended beautifully with the surrounding nature. Shana and Namrata Patel from Shana Namrata Events overcame the challenges they faced while making this breathtaking event come to life, “The largest challenge was the area where this function took place, as it was on fertile land that was a little patchy with uneven hard soil blocks. Since we wanted each guest to be comfortable as they enjoyed the traditional Hindu-Jain gol dhana function, a 5000 sq. ft stage was constructed. Completely traditional in its vibe, the function was filled with cheer and in sync with the venue’s natural beauty.”
