Shivangi and Kunal’s Platinum Day of Love
Love Actually, Pre Wedding Photoshoots - May 14, 2019
Our initiative ‘Love Actually’ features engaged couples and captures beautiful moments between them. The series celebrates people in love as they start their lives together. Over a fabulous makeover and a photo shoot, we get these couples to tell us how they met, capture the rare connection they share and talk about their day of love.
Love is like a dance – for some, it’s a fleet-footed foxtrot, for Shivangi and Kunal, it was a slow, graceful waltz into each other’s hearts. On their Platinum Day Of Love, at the Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai, the sun shone bright, music filled the air and set these lovebirds dancing.
On their first date, Shivangi told Kunal she’d need to meet him a couple of times to decide if she was interested in him. Kunal agreed and decided to sweep her off her feet.
Shivangi says, “Every place we went to was distinct from the previous. He gave me a glimpse into his lifestyle and the different aspects of his personality. I saw how he conducted himself in different settings and so understood him better as a person. It amazed me that he put so much thought into something like where we should go and this attentive, caring nature of his was the first thing that got me interested in him.”
A relationship is so much like dancing – synchrony, balance, intuiting each other’s moves. Shivangi says, “In our past relationships, Kunal and I have usually been receivers rather than givers. It’s so different this time. We inspire each other to put effort into building this deep, meaningful connection. I think we bring out each other’s nurturing side which is something that I value so much.”
The lead up to the wedding is exciting but it’s also when the prep can seem daunting. Still, these two only find opportunities to explore their compatibility amid the challenges. The bride-to-be says, “Two different families, new to each other’s tastes and styles of working, have to get together to put up an event as big as a wedding! It’s absolutely natural to have differences of opinion. There have been times when things haven’t gone as per plan but with each other, we know we can find a middle path and overcome all obstacles.”
And sometimes, when you can’t overcome an obstacle – you have to drive around it. “I had some anxiety from all the wedding planning and was having trouble falling asleep,” the bride-to-be says, “One night, Kunal showed up under my building at 1:30 am and drove me around all night. He took me to my favorite places so I could eat everything I like. He didn’t have to do this but he did it to make me feel better and it blew me away!”
Love comes dancing up to you and when it does, you have to stand up and match steps. Shivangi and Kunal were introduced to each other by their parents but she says, their rhythms are perfectly synchronized, “We’ve only known each other for a few months and we’re falling a little more in love with each other every day. Our relationship is very old-school in the way that we said ‘yes’ to each other first and allowed love to make its way into our hearts after. In today’s times a situation like is as rare as platinum! However, we couldn’t have been happier about this decision because there’s so much more to explore in the other as well as our relationship and we’re glad to have forever to do it.”
A dance that lasts forever is best represented by Platinum love bands, Shivangi believes. “Platinum is eternal, it looks beautiful from the outside and is pure and strong from within. This is exactly how our relationship is and I think there couldn’t be a better way to honor our love than with Platinum Love Bands,” she says.
Shivangi and Kunal’s day out took a filmi turn with Bollywood style romance and dancing.
Kunal: You fly me to the moon and fill my heart with song!
Shivangi: Who’s dancing to whose tune?
Matching steps is one way to start a brand new journey together.
Kunal got the moves!
Kunal: It takes two to tango.
Kunal: So will you be my dance partner for life?
That’s an interpretative dance for ‘yes’!
He slipped a Platinum Love Band on her finger
