A poetic pre-wedding film that evokes old-school romance

This pre-wedding film, titled ‘Raaste’, evokes warm feelings of old-school romance through a modern-day love story; all beautifully shot on the streets of Mumbai by WeddingSutra Favorite- Fourfold Pictures. The team brilliantly showcases the love and affection between Chakshu and Sakhi through candid, natural footage.
The video begins with a charming and slow 60s number playing as the couple is shown riding on a bike. As the footage plays, Sakhi speaks about their love story, while reciting a poem. She says, “Raaste khoobsurat hai tumhare saath, manzil ki filhal baat nahi karte. Aadha raasta beet chuka hai tumhare saath, tumne manzil ki baat hi nahi kari mujhse.”
The video then picks up pace, showing the couple in many different settings. The film shows how, in a fast-paced world, the couple finds joy in the little things they do together. From enjoying each other’s company on the marine drive to walking hand-in-hand on the road, each shot captured by Fourfold Pictures showcases the couple’s intimate bond. We see them take auto rickshaws and the bus, enjoy a meal at a restaurant and snacks at a stall. We see Sakhi street shopping while Chakshu giving her his opinion, and watch them playing ‘stapoo’ while hopping on the street. The visual storytellers then sum up their love in one sweet frame of Sakhi finding comfort in Chakshu’s arms.
As the film reaches its midpoint, the couple is again shown on their bike, as the footage and music, pick up pace. Finally, they reach their destination, walking a path together, the visual narrative portraying that it is the journey undertaken that is so important; not just the destination. Then, as the music slows, Chakshu is seen slow dancing with his lady love, continuing the poem that she began at the start of the film, saying, “Toh tum manzil ki baatein kar rahi thi na, Manzil toh mil hi jayegi ek din. Chalte chalte hi sahi. Gumrah woh hai jo manzil ke chakkar mein ghar se nikale hi nahi. Ab jo tum aa hi gayi ho toh badi lambi guftagoo karenge. Shayad wahi karte karte mil jaaye manzil.”
An intimate and effortless pre-wedding video, the team at Fourfold Pictures wonderfully showed this couple’s meaningful connection in a relatable yet charming way.
