Indian weddings showcase the lineage of two families, their culture, traditions and lifestyle, which in turn impact the choices of a bridal wardrobe. WeddingSutra Favourite – Vivan Bhathena Productions traverses the landscape of diverse bridal looks in the country through a range of compelling looks that are diverse yet innately Indian.
Sharing his inspiration for the shoot, Vivan says, “Today, the metropolitan bride is beautiful in an unconventional way. She believes in the ‘right now’ more than the ‘forever after’. Her fashion is forward and her footwear is ready to run. Her wedding album has been replaced by Instagram. Her jewellery is personal and her smile is her makeup. The only thing that remains unchanged is love that continues to be timeless.”
The images capture the confidence of each bride as she embraces her inner style to shine her brightest on her special day. She glitters with diamonds while draped in svelte gowns, and enchants on romantic pastels.
Draped in artisanal silk sarees, she channels traditions from bygone eras, and in vibrant hues rich with intricate motifs, as she unleashes her inner Maharani. The Indian bride, no matter which part of India she hails from, is the perfect perfect epitome of heritage blended with a contemporary essence, and this photo shoot captures all those facets beautifully.
