Bridesmaid outfits that inspired us in 2018
Bridesmaids - Dec 12, 2018
At a wedding all eyes are on the bride, and with the bridesmaids around her at all times, they too become hard to miss. Thus, what her squad chooses to wear on her big day is no less important and with the year coming to an end, we thought we would give you a quick roundup of all the bridesmaids who stole our hearts with their unique looks and outfits.
Here it goes!
Bridesmaid Fenny
Edginess with elegance may sound like an unlikely combination, but Fenny showed just how to rock a look that offers both these qualities. The nude Falguni and Shane Peacock gown that she wore featured a plunging neckline that came with a feminine silhouette. Silver threads and embellishments traced geometric patterns over the sheer fabric to create an incredibly modern look.

Bridesmaid Mahek
Mahek was another bridesmaid who proved that contrasting themes can be just as compatible by wearing an ethnic jumpsuit by Anita Dongre. Comfort and class came together in this outfit that made use of pretty pink tasselled accents that were used along with the buttons and the colour heightened the beauty of the floral motifs on the fabric. To add another layer of Indian aesthetic, the attire was paired with gorgeous polki jewellery.

Bridesmaid Simran
A flirty white lehenga by Label D was one that matched bridesmaid Simran’s bubbly personality perfectly. The monotone tiered skirt was paired with a ruffled cold shoulder blouse and the golden work on the top was matched with a tasselled trim. With bold lips and a few contemporary pieces of jewellery, she completed this youthful look.

Bridesmaid Shagun
Subdued colours spell sophistication. Pair them with sparkles and you are bound to get something that looks utterly glamorous. Shagun’s beige body-fit gown by Karleo Fashion with lattice-like embroidery all over was an outfit that looked like it was borrowed from international runways. The statement neckline paired with sleek hair and minimalistic jewellery had her looking like a true diva.

Bridesmaid Divya
A modern take on the flapper style dresses of the early nineties, Divya’s gown by Neeta Lulla was chic, contemporary and entirely refreshing. The beaded fringe ran along the neckline and brought a playful vibe to the outfit while the muted two-tone work diversified the colour palette and brought in some interesting patterns without taking away from the core concept.

Bridesmaid Anushi
This year fringes and tassels were all the rage and we spotted them once again on Anushi’s jumpsuit from AZA Fashions. The solid coloured ensemble came with a fringed cape that featured intricate work using pearls. The same work was used along the legs which not only maintained synergy between the two pieces but further added an edgy look to this piece.

Bridesmaid Sanjana
If femme fatal was what you were looking for, you need not look any further than Sanjana’s fierce getup. A black gown by Falguni and Shane Peacock with a high slit and intricate tone-on-tone details, this outfit was high fashion at its best. The intricate work was balanced with a clean mesh neckline and some dramatic eye makeup had her looking absolutely stunning!

Bridesmaid Mithila
Have you ever seen a bohemian goddess? If you haven’t Mihila’s look is sure to change your answer to affirmative. The fluid fabric of her textured skirt and the dramatic bodice with sequins and feathery details were united in this breathtaking Ridhi Mehra gown. With her curly locks, warm bronzed makeup and a floral tiara she looked truly ethereal.

Bridesmaid Priya
The flower power in Priya’s look is for real! Her muted green gown by Varun Bahl speaks of grace and elegance. The billowing skirt and the floral patterns in stunning colours that smothered the fabric added a regal touch to the outfit. A statement ring and pair of long earrings were all that was needed to complete this look and her makeup was left understand so that it wouldn’t take away from the beauty of the outfit.

Bridesmaid Jessica
Jessica’s look takes a walk down the path that runs between bold, modern and chic all at the same time. The black net saree by Shivan & Narresh features embroidered flowers in contrasting colors of red and white and the drape is paired with a strappy sequins blouse. Complete with bold lips and a high ponytail this look was a head-turner.

Bridesmaid Aastha
Aastha’s saree by Shivan & Narresh was evocative of retro Bollywood. However, while the long sleeved blouse and floral print on the fabric instantly pressed rewind, the solid coloured pleats in the front brought in a contemporary feel to her ensemble. Her up-to-date jewellery and stylish hairstyle heightened the appeal of this creation.

Her Shivan & Narresh saree featured nature-inspired patterns and the embellished border made it fitting for the celebratory occasion. Giving a new spin to the idea of ‘The Lady in Red’ her saree was paired with a striking duster and a choker.
