Bedecked with florals and life-sized Roman pillars, this home-based phera ceremony will make you go ‘wow!’

Aanchal Wadhwa and Yudhishthir Jaising, son of veteran designer Monisha Jaising’s home-based wedding exuded whimsy and elegance. Designed by WeddingSutra Favorite – Atrezzo Decor, the phera ceremony was a close-knit one with an awe-inspiring indoor mandap. Capturing the couple as they took the plunge was WeddingSutra Favorite – Knotting Bells.
Taskeen Poonawala from Atrezzo Decor gives us an overview of the design process and the brief they received from the family, “They were looking for an intimate wedding concept, not opulently placed but still giving a ‘wow’ factor in the client’s residence itself. We did several meetings and decor plans to expedite the process as the wedding date and venue had to be relocated.
The fact that we could plan a beautiful flow of adornment within the home premises was a fun process to work with. We had an elegant abode to work around that made the overall outlook amazing.”
As the big day drew forward, the design team was on its toes as they aligned themselves with the aesthetic sense of the duo and their family. Taskeen shares, “A subtle wedding ceremony exchange was the key concept to follow, so just one function meticulously executed. The idea was to create a whimsical garden ambience indoors. With the groom’s mother being a renowned name in the fashion industry, she was extremely particular about the mandap style. Installing a mandap within a home abode was a little bit of a challenge on the technical front, but everything worked out as envisioned. It was planned and constructed in detail by her team’s technical support. We created life-size Roman pillars with a burst of floral patterns elevating the look as the main feature. Apart from the mandap we designated chic corners/ spaces from the site and enhanced it with florals.
Considering the wedding was an intimate affair, we had good scope to personalize and stylize elements as per the client’s choices. Our bride had an exceptional liking for butterflies and so we crafted butterflies in our theme colours which were used in all decorated areas, also as self installations creating an enchanted space.
