From ‘working together’ to ‘together forever’, Founder Anoop Singh and Design Head Prereta Pahwa of WeddingSutra Favorite – Aakar Events celebrated their love with a chic city wedding at The Leela Palace New Delhi. While they spend their days orchestrating the most incredible decor concepts and themes for their clients, when it came to their wedding, the couple wanted an intimate celebration that was focused on having fun with their loved ones. “At Aakar Events, even though we, as wedding design and production professionals with a fully trained team and inventory, design the most exquisite events on a daily basis, we are always all hands-on deck to ensure nothing but excellence no matter how small or big the wedding. So when we had to plan for our own wedding, our priority was simple – to keep the experience as relaxed and enjoyable as possible. We worked on first listing out the things we held as top priority, and the answers were immediate and clear – a local destination with classic yet mesmerizing decor where we and our families could relish every moment. Having worked on many vast and top-notch weddings over the years, Anoop and I were focused on being happy and stress-free during our wedding.”
She adds, “Being wedding decor professionals helped us plan the technical side of things well in advance, which saved us the glitches that we could have otherwise faced. From installing the massive mandap structure on the hotel’s rooftop to sourcing a diverse variety of white flowers and foliage for our home function and seeing our decor ideas come to life, the entire process was so precious. In the end, we got exactly what we wanted, and it was the most special experience of our lives.”
Hosted at the couple’s home, the intimate Cocktail soiree was imagined with an alluring arrangement of white blooms, lush foliage, candles, and string lights for a cozy, romantic ambiance. Dressed in a riveting evening palette of red and black, the bride and groom exuded easy elegance as they celebrated with a cake-cutting and a sparkler display.
Held on the terrace of The Leela Palace in New Delhi, the Wedding ceremony was all about the breathtaking Mandap. The rooftop space was transformed into a splendid oasis with tons of flowers and foliage, chandeliers, candles, and a canopy of string lights. An abundance of seasonal blooms was used to design a plush mandap specifically for the sunset hour, lighting up in gold tones. The pastel decor also transitioned perfectly from day to night, making for a whimsical, romantic ambiance for the dinner post wedding rituals.
