Arushi and Rohan’s Platinum Love Story

In the age of dating apps, Arushi and Rohan took the leap of love on a matrimonial platform. Arushi Jain, a Hardware Engineer working in Germany crossed paths with London-based Software Engineer Rohan Gulati while visiting their families back in Delhi.
Rohan shares, “While a lot of people get on matrimonial platforms at the behest of their families, I simply decided to try it out to find someone likeminded I could share my life with and grow. Living an independent, fulfilling, successful life, I wasn’t looking for anyone to fill in any missing pieces, but rather add to it. Dating is of course exciting but comes with its own set of uncertainties, and turning to matrimonial sites over the more popular dating apps assured whoever I met would share a similar point of view. Arushi was the first woman I met and was immediately blown away by her powerful personality, accomplishments, and undying ambition. We discovered that we both had left the country to pursue studies and work in various locations across Europe, from the experiences of which we had loved and learned a lot, which was something we really bonded over. However, as I got to know her, I discovered there was so much more to her. I loved that she made me feel comfortable enough to always be myself and appreciated all my sides, whether it be the intellectual, the serious professional, or the goofball. Even in the serious conversations we had right away about personal expectations and hopes for the future, she didn’t look to me for answers or vague promises but rather for a partner she could figure things out with together every step of the way, which showed me that we could truly build a life with each other in the truest sense”.
Arushi on the other hand was intrigued by Rohan’s interest in her career and professional goals. She shares, “As a modern, educated and career-oriented woman, I am amazed at how many people still expect my work to play second fiddle, because of which I made it a point to clarify future expectations with any marriage prospects. I was pleasantly surprised to find that my practical approach was shared and appreciated by Rohan, who was fascinated by what I do and aim to achieve. He was very interested in my journey, my goals, my ambitions while also sharing his life experiences, and that truly connected us. We discovered that we both loved living in Europe and wanted to settle and grow a family there, and that we both were extremely close to and valued our families. It was however when the topic of ‘where to live’ came up, that instead of assuming I would move to wherever he was, he suggested we pro-
and-con our job prospects, location, and growth potential of our work to make a fair decision! At that moment I could see the kind of life I could have with him, one full of care, support, and respect, and in between all of my practicality I fell in love with him.”
She continues, “People often think knowing someone for a long time is necessary to be able to commit to them for a lifetime, but that’s not always the case. Even though my courtship with Rohan was short, it was full of meaningful moments of love and comfort that allowed us to bare our souls to each other. And while there was no “Aha! He’s the
one” moment, I do recall an unforgettable conversation where he said that we had to be not just each other’s spouse, but also family. ‘Arushi, the life we both want is going to take us far away from our families, with just each other to rely on. You won’t just have to be my wife, but also my parent, my sibling, my friend at times, and I will do the same
for you. We are in this together, and have to help each other get through everything, both good and bad.’ His words resonated with me deep in my soul, and my life was never the same again! He never lets ego blemish our bond, values my perspectives and choices, and ensure that we handle every big moment or decision together, so neither of us ever have to compromise on our happiness. He has an inexplicable way of making me feel loved and cherished like a princess and a superwoman who can do it all at the same time. Every day is an adventure”.
“When it’s the right person, it doesn’t matter how or when you meet them” Rohan adds, “I set out with no expectations, and ended up meeting my soulmate. Arushi ignites in me a deeper drive to chase my dreams, but also instills me in the desire to live a happy, fulfilled life that goes beyond work. She is everything I could have hoped for in a partner, and I look forward to a lifetime of love, happiness, and growth with her, helping each other reach for the stars”.
