Anisha and Shorab’s Platinum Day of Love
Love Actually - Jan 22, 2020
Our initiative ‘Love Actually’ features engaged couples, and captures beautiful moments between them. The series celebrates people in love as they start their lives together. Over a fabulous makeover and a photo shoot, these couples share how they met while we document their special connection on a very special day to celebrate their relationship – their very own ‘Day Of Love’.
Every once in a while, we come across a story that makes us believe that fairy tales may just be real. Like many who have moved cities for work, Mumbai-native Anisha was homesick when she shifted to Bangalore. She says, “A colleague of mine invited me to join her and her friends for a night out, to cheer me up. I was reluctant as I didn’t know anyone yet. Little did I know that I’d end up meeting the person I want to spend the rest of my life with there!”
“As far as first-meeting stories go, ours could get no better! Despite being part of the same group, we had barely spoken all night. At some point during the evening, an older man started making uncomfortable advances towards me, prompting me to tap the shoulder of the first person I could find to escape. To my luck it was Shorab. Even though he didn’t know me well, he gauged the situation quickly and came to my rescue by pretending to be my fiancée. That day I found my very own knight in shining armor!”
The first blissful couple of months consisted of romantic movie dates, dinners, drives – the works. However, when Anisha’s job didn’t work out as planned, the couple found themselves caught off guard. Though they loved spending time with each other, the two hadn’t had a chance to figure out or discuss where they saw the relationship going. Anisha soon moved back to Mumbai. The move, however, put things in perspective. The distance made them realize how deeply they had come to care for each other in that short period of time. They could no longer deny that they had developed true feelings for each other. Anisha knew that she had to relocate back to Bangalore to give their relationship another chance.
A few blissful years of dating later, they came to a crossroads again when Anisha decided to go abroad to pursue her masters. “Since we were faced with an impending long-distance situation again, we knew it was time to take it to the next level and involve our parents before I left for Milan. While my family accepted the match with no qualms, we had to work at convincing Shorab’s conservative Marwari family to come to terms with him marrying someone for love outside their community – a first for their family. However, once they met me, and saw how Shorab cared for me and how happy I made him, their doubts disappeared and they welcomed me into the family with open arms.” shares Anisha.
They say if two people are meant for each other, they will always find their way back to each other. Despite distance coming in their way many a time, Anisha and Shorab’s journey was definitely one sweet success story. Now, having returned to India after completing her masters and happily planning her upcoming wedding, Anisha shares, “If there is one thing I have learned, it is that time is pivotal to a successful relationship. From the very first meeting, we have had an unspoken and instantaneous understanding. But our relationship only deepened once we committed time and effort into getting to really know each other.
“Speaking of their relationship, Anisha says, “Shorab is a complete cheerleader, always driving me and everyone around him with his infectious influence to keep doing better. He has lived life on his own terms and is a completely self-made person, while I have always lived with my family and have been shy of new things. Shorab has been a big factor in bringing me out of my shell and pushing me to be more, giving me the courage to move cities, further my career, and so much more”.
Shorab shares, “I have lived alone and away from my family for most of my life, and always wanted a partner who would keep me centered and connected to loved ones. That’s why I love how grounded and family-oriented Anisha is. She is always there for the people she loves and is never afraid to go all out. Also because of the different environments we have grown up in, we constantly afforded the opportunity to keep learning from each other. From long-distance relationships to convincing my family of our planned marriage, it has been a long journey to where we are today, but every experience, good or bad, has only brought us closer together.”
Anisha and Shorab’s relationship faced a lot of situational challenges from the get-go, but the love they felt for each other never let anything deter them from building a life together. A connection that can endure anything is rare and nothing celebrates that better than platinum love bands. Crafted from the rarest metal on earth, these timeless masterpieces will perfectly commemorate their love as they take their vows in April 2020.
The couple celebrated their ‘Platinum Day of Love’ strolling through the lush trails of Grover Zampa Vineyards in Bangalore as they exchanged exquisite Platinum love bands from Orra.
