An immersive global experience in Goa – this couple’s wedding took a cue from international destinations to orchestrate a series of epic celebrations!

Netra and Dushyant’s Goa-based wedding hosted in January was a whirlwind of colors and international cultures. Owing to the couple’s love for traversing the globe, their wedding planners WeddingSutra Favorite – Exotic Goa Events orchestrated a series of events that celebrated the beauty of various international destinations.
Seby Noronha from Exotic Goa Events shares the couple’s vision for their union and the personalized elements that made it special, “The couple desired an ‘Around the World’ theme for their wedding celebrations, with each event uniquely representing a different part of the globe. They envisioned vibrant, culturally immersive experiences that would transport their guests to various international destinations. The decor, food, music, and overall ambience were to be tailored to reflect the chosen locales, creating a memorable and exotic journey for all attendees. To make it more personalized, the couple incorporated their travel memorabilia into the decor, such as photos from their trips and souvenirs, adding a sentimental touch to the thematic elements. Wedding favours were in sync with the theme of the event.”
Wedding Functions
Bhaat
At the Bhaat ceremony in Indian weddings, the groom’s family is treated to a sumptuous feast by the bride’s side. For Netra and Dushyant’s union, this event followed a Moroccan theme.
The venue was transformed into a Moroccan oasis with rich tapestries, lanterns, and low seating arrangements. And, the color palette featured deep reds, oranges, and golds.
Brazilian Carnival Party
Seby shares, “This event was a riot of colors and music, reflecting the exuberance of a Brazilian carnival. The decor included vibrant streamers, feathered masks, and large carnival floats. The lively atmosphere encouraged everyone to dance freely, regardless of their age.”
Sangeet
After the South American vibrance of Brazil, the couple took their guests on a whirlwind journey to France! Seby adds, “The sangeet was a picture of French sophistication. The decor featured Eiffel Tower centerpieces, elegant chandeliers, and a pastel colour scheme.”
Sundowner Party
The next stop was the Amalfi Coast in Italy. The sundowner party transported guests to the picturesque Amalfi Coast. The decor included lemon trees, bougainvillea blooms, and white and blue accents. Guests enjoyed a seafood-centric menu. The evening was filled with laughter and music as everyone watched the sun set over a beautifully decorated coastal backdrop.
Rain Dance Party
Inspired by Spain’s Tomatina festival, this rain dance party was all about fun! The area was set up with inflatable pools filled with red water balloons resembling tomatoes, and guests were encouraged to join in the tomato fight. The flamenco dancers added to the lively spirit of the event.
Wedding
After the globally inspired events, the couple embraced their roots with a traditional phera ceremony. Seby shares, “The mandap was adorned with jasmine flowers, and the decor featured rich fabrics and intricate patterns. The couple dressed in traditional attire, and the rituals were conducted with great reverence. The ceremony was a beautiful blend of culture and tradition, providing a fitting culmination to the multicultural celebrations.”
